The Agency Walked Away With Two Awards on Behalf of Client Work for Shoo the Flu and RallyPoint
BOSTON – Racepoint Global, an intelligence-driven marketing agency that delivers results for the accountability economy, announced today that the agency has been awarded a PRSA Silver Anvil Award within the category of Integrated Communications for Nonprofit Organizations for the agency’s Shoo the Flu public awareness campaign. Additionally, the agency took home an Award of Excellence in the Consumer Services Marketing category for the agency’s work with RallyPoint. The awards were announced during the 2016 Silver Anvil Awards Ceremony in New York City on June 10th.
For more than 70 years, the Silver Anvil Award has served as the industry’s most distinguished honor, recognizing the very best in PR. The annual event honors organizations that have successfully addressed a contemporary public relations issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. Silver Anvil Judges evaluate entries for their strategic nature of public relations programs using four key components — research, planning, execution and evaluation.
During the Shoo the Flu campaign, Racepoint Global was tasked with launching a public education campaign initiative to help decrease the incidence of seasonal influenza in Oakland, California through the sponsorship of free, in-school flu vaccination clinics in city schools. With a partnership in conjunction with the Oakland Unified School District and the Alameda County Public Health Department along with funding from the Page Family Foundation, these opt-in clinics are supported by a multi-year research initiative by UCLA Berkeley to validate whether vaccinating a large population of school-age children against influenza is effective in limiting community-level transmission of the flu virus in Oakland. As a result of the campaign, Shoo the Flu effectively engaged community members across the Oakland area, educating them about the flu, flu vaccines and proper protection for flu season and increasing participation to yield 10,000+ flu vaccines given to students, a 41 percent increase compared to 2014.
Racepoint Global worked with RallyPoint as a marketing communications partner to increase membership, visibility and awareness and create content to leverage as media opportunities and position RallyPoint as a social community and resource for reporters to tap into the thoughts of the “real” military. As a result of the campaign, RallyPoint is seen as the “go to” source to provide the voice of the military for several outlets.
“Racepoint Global is ecstatic to bring home two awards from the PRSA Silver Anvils Award ceremony,” says President Peter Prodromou. “Having the privilege to work on a public service program like Shoo the Flu is gratifying in its own right. Winning one of our industry’s most rigorous awards for the work makes it all the more amazing.”
