Overview

RISC-V International is a global non-profit organization that oversees the development and promotion of the free, open, and extensible instruction set architecture RISC-V that enables global innovation in processor design. Its ecosystem has more than 4,600 members (https://riscv.org/members/) spanning 70 countries, who all leverage RISC-V, including Google, NVIDIA, Alibaba, Qualcomm, SiFive, Intel, universities, and many more.

Intro

RISC-V was established 15 years ago, and has since grown into a global phenomenon, now powering billions of devices across automotive, data centers, high performance computing, IoT & embedded systems, mobile, space and aerospace, AI, security, and more, all while reshaping the future of computing and driving unprecedented innovation. Racepoint has been a partner of RISC-V International since 2018.

Challenge

One of RISC V International’s core challenges is scaling globally and raising its profile as a credible, innovative alternative to propriety architectures, which have long dominated software and hardware markets.

Result

To position RISC V as a credible alternative, we actively monitored and promoted RISC-V ecosystem events, member news, and technical developments from startups, major players, and independent developers across social channels; collaborated with media and analysts on contributed content, briefings, and coverage; and helped build sponsorship opportunities with media publishing houses, all while strategically focusing on RISC V International’s annual Summits in North America, Europe, and China. As a result of driving visibility for the RISC-V ISA through media coverage, social engagement, and high-profile ecosystem events — including RISC-V International's annual Summits in North America, Europe, and China — RISC-V is now gaining commercial momentum and establishing itself as the second ISA of choice, projected by The SHD Group to be in over 35 billion SoCs by 2031 – a 31.7% compound annual growth representing an estimated $300 billion in revenue. o “RISC-V, the number two processor architecture behind Arm, is growing beyond expectations in artificial intelligence (AI) designs and China deployments. These were among the key trendlines at the RISC-V Summit held on 22-23 October 2025 in Santa Clara, California.” – Majeed Ahmad, EE Times
